Training Programme Purpose
This unit standard applies to individuals who are required to perform advanced defensive driving under the following conditions: Variable lighting and visibility conditions, Front or rear wheel driven vehicles, Different road conditions (wet and dry), Different transmission systems.
Entry Requirements:
> Basic numeracy and literacy skills
> Knowledge about traffic regulations.
> Teaching language is English
> Ratio: Theory 1:10, Practical 1:4

Day 1
> Introduction to defensive driving
> Hazard identification and reaction
> SIPDE procedure
> ABC of defensive driving
> 5 C’s of defensive driving
> System of vehicle control 1 & 2
> Collision avoidance
> 30 point checklist for defensive drivers
> Road sign identification and reaction
> Video Materials
Day 2
> Pre trip inspection exterior.
> Pre trip inspection interior.
> Practical application scope of 4x4 defensive driving.
Day 3
> Summative Knowledge Assessments
> Summative Performance Assessments
> Summative Assessment Marking & Learner Feedback Sessions
